Back and Better!!

 

Hey everyone I’m Loudui, and I’m 16year old AICE student at Fort Lauderdale high school. I have a somewhat balanced schedule of Flag, school and of course my favorite, SLEEP. Flag has been my main hobby and after school activity this school year. But Recently I’ve been finding myself adding new things to my schedule, mainly media related. Being that I already like watching movies, I’ve started noticing some of the things I’ve learned this year in these movies. It’s come to the point where I watch a movie and can automatically call out which angle is being used or which type of sound was playing . And I’m shockingly enjoy this as it is typically a new part of my free time activities. All this Has cause me to become really excited to finally work on my final task. The main thing I’m looking forward to  is probably seeing how it’ll turn out after my practice on the last to assignments. This year was my first year doing anything close to ‘filming’ alongside its learning key vocabulary on it. This is my 2nd year in my schools Cambridge program and my first year in AICE-media. I’ve excelled tremendously over the time span of being in this class and can’t wait to utilize what I’ve learned in my final task. There’s so many things I’ve learned this year regarding camera angles and shots, editing etc. being that this final task is supposed to be an introduction to a movie (2mins) I’m kind of curious on how it’s going to go. I’ve learned, used, and written about these terms so far so prolonging my use of them for this task is going to be a challenge I’m ready for. I look forward to possibly leaning new things when doing this task. The thought of learning new phrases, terms and constructing it all together for a movie intro, has me way over ecstatic and I’m here for it.

Group Blog: the Iconic Duo

Hi blog, this is usually the time where we pick our groups again for our next project, and guess who my partner is…….KEANAH!! So far we’ve had experience with working together and it’s been great. I personally feel like we’ve grown in our project capabilities while working as a team for past assignments. I was thinking about partnering up with different peopel this time around but thought against it. Although it would have been nice to work with a different person and gain a different experience, I decided not to. I chose sticking in my comfort zone especially since this is a big project and I share similar ideas with my chosen partner. With the experience we both have with working with each in this class I found it a smart decision to stick together. Both in and out of this class we’ve reached succession so I only have high hopes when I working alongside my friend . Like last time, I didn’t have much time to find new partners and I didn’t want to waste time. Groups were already forming up so I seen the opportunity of sticking with my friend and took it. Why not give it a go especially with us working so well together before and making good progress . Distractions aren’t an issue which is something I would usually consider when choosing to work in group with anyone. I also can meet with her outside of school which majorly important for our filming process. My last project went really  when I worked with her and gained lots of understanding. I plan on working with her (keannah) to get the work done in both an efficient and creative way. We’re good as partners and that will definitely benefit us in the projects long run.

Music Video Blog

I found this project to be a very, different yet interesting thing to work on . I've never done a music video before nor even produced something longer than 30 seconds. As expected there were a few problems along the way, like lost of footage, filming times and so forth. but none the less me and my partner got it done, working around all the obstacles and i'm really proud of our progress. compared to our last project, we have really gotten better at editing, recording and understanding the angles and shots needed to be used. My favorite part probably would be planning it all out, the process of making a storyboard and brainstorming ideas. It really gave me a space to be creative, and that's also why I enjoyed filming also. already having the plan laid and just filming with our own twist was really exciting, for all of us involved. Although it's nearly like the last, i really feel like i've gotten better at understanding the whole media process and terms cause of this project. Like last time, i'm really looking forward to the next assignment similar to this, i know i'm capable of better and i'm willing to be better. 

 

Production blog: finishing up editing

 Hi blog, today I’m wrapping up everything, I’ve been doing for the music video. Filming has been finished and editing is nearing an end. Today I just adjusted the song in the background and clips. I had to make sure the Verizon of the song I chose didn’t include any vulgar language, which didn’t take long. And as for the clips I tried to match every part with the lyrics. Making sure each part was well represented with slack clip. The  biggest thing that was holding me back when it came to filming was he conversation part. I finally got my Friend Riya to send the clip and I just edited it in. I did have to redo the order of some clips do to the length of them and formations of everything being throwed off. Some of the clips at the end had to be moved around since they were mostly place holders. I before I didn’t fix them , I had just put them in so I could have a n overview of how they’d be . It just made more work for me in the end now that I’m finishing editing now. I did ask my partner for advice since we seemed to be missing some clips. Like the clip of the water and sky, that we took while at universal a couple weeks ago. But  we worked around it and I’m making it work with the mini videos we already have from the trip. A lot of those clips are long and contain 2 different things so I’ll be able to split and use them for different parts of the song. I’m also adding effects to the videos to make them look less choppy when it come to the transitions. Not only the but also sow filters to make the mood more girly and not bland. The lighting throughout all the videos are good but just to spice it up I’m gonna add the effect filters. They include tiny stars so I’m some parts it’ll really look good. I’m very excited for the finished product and can’t wait to turn it in.

Production blog: finishing filiming

 Hi blog, I had to finish filming the remainder of the clips for our music video this week.when it came to filming, everything was to a minimal. There’s really not much to record, since we got majority done during our Orlando trip. There’s a part in our music video where to of our Material Girls are boasting to each other. This part is the chorus and is supposed to give you sum insight on how the girls are living. In this case, Lavishly and boujie, so we had to film in places that kinda gave off that feel.  Due to timing, we only got to record nene’s part in the trip and not Riya’s. (<our material Girls). Like when we recorded Nene we did it at #SELFIEWORLD, so we got this girly pink  background with a mini couch. Now as for Riya we have her filming from home, in this case in here room.  I had finally got the time to remind Riya about her part of the video that needed to be filmed. There’s not much to record for her really, she’s just Lip syncing and getting ready in her vanity mirror. The whole Vision for that part was to make it look like they’re gossiping or bragging about their luxuries. There are a few parts that also needed to be recorded, like the mini clips of jewelry . I’m leaving that up to my partner Keanna, since she has access to jewelry. I’ll  just have her send those videos  to me when it comes time to edit. There isn’t much for me to do as of right now except edit. I do also have 1 more thing that needs to be recorded, which is somewhat a waterfall. Im not sure if I’ll have my partner record it or if I’ll jus do it tomorrow before editing. Other then that filming has really come to a wrap!

Production blog: editing on my free time

 Hey blog so I recently decided to start editing my groups music video and so far it’s going well. I plan on only editing like 60% of it cause we’re still waiting to fill sum parts. I got Keanna (my partner )  to send me all the clips she recorded along with the clips she got from one of our fellow material girls. She sent me the clips in order so the editing process was really easy. I spent a couple hours on the first 30 seconds of the music video trying to make sure the transitions didn’t look “choppy” and to make sure that they would flow. I wanted them to make sense with the clip that would come before it and with the lyrics.  I found some cool transitions that gave the clips a smooth look when they came up; which was the plan. Before moving on I did ask my partner for any input regarding how the clips should go and if any effects are necessary. And we were generally proud of how the video was coming along. So far I’m waiting for her to send me some new clips that we’ll be adding for the cutaway. And In the meantime I’m still going Over if split screen  is necessary for one of our scenes. For now I just added transitions but once my partner sends that video I’ll makeup my mind and see which works best. There was good lighting in nearly all the clips, but I still added some bling effects and filters to some of them just give it some flare. It added a nice semi girly and expensive look to the intro which I like. And I did add a little title, that kind of had a similar vibe to the overall them of the song, so so  far everything is going great. Right now I’m just rewatching the beginning to see if there is anything that needs to be changed. I’m also putting in placeholders, for the videos that I haven’t received yet. The overall process isn’t hard when you know what how to work the app and how you want things to be done.  and since I have experience with the editing app, (CapCut) the editing process isn’t taking long. Later blog, when I have the rest of the videos and start editing again :)!
